The Commissioner, on the recommendation of the Minister, under section 6 of the Area Development Act, makes the Enterprise Development Area Regulations.

1.

The area described in the Schedule is designated as the Enterprise Development Area.

2.

An applicant for a permit shall furnish such information as an officer may request.

3.

(1) No person shall,

(a) erect, move or alter any building or structure,

(b) make any excavation or disruption of the ground, or

(c) pitch a tent or establish any camp,

within the Enterprise Development Area unless the person is authorized by a permit issued by an officer.

(2) Subject to subsection (1), a person may maintain and repair a building or structure within the Enterprise Development Area without obtaining a permit.

4.

No person shall cut or remove trees within the Enterprise Development Area unless an officer has given written permission for the cutting or removal of the trees.

5.

No person shall keep a dog within the Enterprise Development Area except in an area approved by an officer.

6.

The following regulations are repealed:

(a) Designating Hay River-Enterprise Area Regulations, R.R.N.W.T. 1980, Reg. 5;

(b) Hay River-Enterprise Development Area Regulations, R.R.N.W.T. 1980, Reg. 7.

SCHEDULE

The Enterprise Development Area includes those lands that lie within 6 km of either side of the following highway rights-of-way:

Firstly, the highway right-of-way of Mackenzie Highway No. 1 running between the 60th parallel of latitude and the intersection with the highway right-of- way of Hay River Highway No. 2; and

Secondly, the highway right-of-way running between the municipal boundary of the Town of Hay River and the municipal boundary of the former Town of Pine Point as at December 31, 1991, commonly known as Fort Smith Highway No. 5;

excepting from the Enterprise Development Area all that portion of the Enterprise Corridor Development Area lying within 6 km of either side of the highway right-of-way of Mackenzie Highway No. 1 running between the 60th parallel of latitude and the intersection with the highway right-of-way of Hay River Highway No. 2, and all that portion of the Enterprise Corridor Development Area lying within 6 km of either side of the highway right-of-way of Fort Smith Highway No. 5 running between the municipal boundary of the Town of Hay River and the municipal boundary of the former Town of Pine Point as at December 31, 1991.
