(1) The Registrar shall verify the identity of an applicant for a general identification card or an existing identification card holder using technological means of identity verification referred to in Schedule A.
(2) A general identification card issued by the Registrar must contain the following information:
(a) full name;
(b) date of birth;
(c) designation of sex;
(d) height;
(e) weight;
(f) eye colour;
(g) hair colour;
(h) residential address including street name;
(i) signature;
(j) facial photograph.
(3) Subject to section 307.4 of the Act, a general identification card expires on the birthday of the card holder in the fifth calendar year after the end of the calendar year in which the card is issued. R-019-2026,s.2.
(1) The fee for a general identification card
(a) for persons under 60 years of age, is $51; and
(b) for persons 60 years of age or older, is $26.
(2) Subject to subsection (4), the fee to replace a lost, stolen, destroyed or illegible general identification card
(a) for persons under 60 years of age, is $31; and
(b) for persons 60 years of age or older, is $15.
(3) Subject to subsection (4), the fee to change the name or address on a general identification card
(a) for persons under 60 years of age, is $31; and
(b) for persons 60 years of age or older, is $15.
(4) The Registrar may, if he or she considers it appropriate, waive the payment of fees payable under this section. R-053-2016,s.2; R-101-2016,s.2; R-010-2020,s.2.
