WHEREAS the Government of the Northwest Territories is required by the Northwest Territories Lands and Resources Devolution Agreement to substantially mirror an order of the Governor General in Council, numbered P.C. 1959-731, that creates a reservation in respect of certain land adjacent to the Snare River;

The Commissioner in Executive Council, under paragraph 19(a) of the Northwest Territories Lands Act and every enabling power, orders as follows:

In any entries under the Mining Regulations that may be granted on or after the day on which this order comes into force for mineral claims within the area described in the Schedule, the right to develop water power without compensation to the entrant for the mineral claim is reserved.

2.

The holder of a licence under the Dominion Water Power Regulations has the right to proceed with the development of the power site without notice to the entrant for, or holder of, a mineral claim referred to in section 1, or without compensation to him or her for any actual or alleged loss or damage by reason of the water power development.

3.

This order comes into force April 1, 2014.

SCHEDULE

(Section 1)

All that parcel of land situated within 1.5 miles on both sides of the centre line of that portion of the normal bed of the Snare River that lies between a line drawn east and west through latitude 63E24N and a line drawn north and south through longitude 116E0N.
