The Minister, under paragraph 41(2)(a) of the Public Utilities Act and every enabling power, makes the Pine Point Electrical Franchise (2022-2035) Order.
A franchise is granted to the Northwest Territories Power Corporation, on the terms set out in this order, to provide electrical energy in the area within the following Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) coordinates:
(a) 11V 592000 6734000;
(b) 11V 600500 6718000;
(c) 11V 648140 6766700;
(d) 11V 670160 6760600.
The franchise expires on September 30, 2035.
The electrical energy provided under the franchise must be provided in accordance with the franchisee’s terms and conditions of service and any amendments to those terms and conditions, filed and approved by the Board under section 63 of the Act.
The franchisee shall, before commencing any work that may impede the movement and traffic on a highway as defined in the Motor Vehicles Act, obtain consent from the Minister to commence the work.
Nothing in this order is to be construed as requiring the franchisee to submit plans to or obtain approval from the Minister of Municipal and Community Affairs in respect of its normal operations or routine maintenance.
If the franchisee wishes to renew the franchise it shall, before April 1, 2035, apply to the Minister under subsection 41(1) of the Act. Yellowknife, N.W.T.
