The Commissioner, on the recommendation of the Minister, under sections 155.1 and 349 of the Motor Vehicles Act and every enabling power, makes the Restricted Electronic Devices Regulations.

In these regulations, "restricted electronic device" includes those devices set out in Schedule A.

A driver who is a member of a class of users listed in Schedule B is, subject to the conditions set out in that Schedule, permitted to use a restricted electronic device.

A driver who is a member of a class of persons listed in Schedule C is, subject to the conditions set out in that Schedule, exempt from the application of section

155.1.

of the Act.

These regulations come into force on January 1,

2012.
