The Commissioner, on the recommendation of the Minister, under section 8 of the Scientists Act and every enabling power, makes the Scientists Act Administration Regulations.
In these regulations, "Act" means the Scientists Act.
Delegation of Power and Duties
(1) The Commissioner may appoint a person employed in the public service as the science advisor for the Northwest Territories.
(2) The science advisor is, on behalf of the Commissioner, responsible for the administration of the Act in the Territories and for that purpose may exercise the powers and shall perform the duties of the Commissioner under the Act.
(3) Subsection (2) does not apply to the powers of the Commissioner under section 8 of the Act.
(1) The Commissioner may appoint a person employed in the public service as the science administration officer for the Territories.
(2) Where the science advisor is absent, ill or otherwise unable to perform his or her duties, the science administration officer has and may exercise the powers and shall perform the duties of the science advisor.
Where a person is required to submit any statement, information, report or specimen to the Commissioner, the statement, information, report or specimen may be submitted to the science advisor or the science administration officer.
The Scientists Act Administration Regulations - Western Northwest Territories, established by regulation numbered R-175-96, are repealed. Territorial Printer, Northwest Territories Yellowknife, N.W.T./2000©
