The Commissioner, on the recommendation of the Minister, under section 98 of the Wildlife Act and every enabling power, makes the Small Game Hunting Regulations.
(1) In these regulations,
"Aboriginal harvester" means a person harvesting wildlife in accordance with section 17 of the Act; (récoltant autochtone);
"daily limit" means the number of animals that a person is entitled to kill in one day; (limite quotidienne)
"GHL" means General Hunting Licence; (PCG)
"NR" means Non-Resident Hunting Licence; (NR)
"NRA" means Non-Resident Alien Hunting Licence; (ENR)
"possession limit" means the number of animals a person is entitled to have in his or her possession; (limite de possession)
"RES" means Resident Hunting Licence; (RES)
"SHL" means Special Harvester Licence; (PSR)
"small game authorization" means a hunting licence that includes an authorization to hunt small game issued under these regulations; (autorisation de chasser le petit gibier)
"zone" means a wildlife management zone designated under section 88 of the Act. (zone)
(2) A reference to regulations without a citation is a reference to regulations made under the Wildlife Act. R-092-98,s.2; R-046-2010,s.2; R-119-2014,s.2; R-097-2018,s.2.
Subsection 2(1), section 4 and the Schedule do not apply to Aboriginal harvesters harvesting within their traditional area. R-119-2014,s.3.
The applicable type of licence, the limits and other restrictions applicable to the harvesting of a small game animal in a zone or area are set out in the Part or Parts of the Schedule pertaining to the animal. R-076-93, s.2; R-046-2010,s.3; R-119-2014,s.4.

No person harvesting small game shall use or possess a shotgun that can, at the relevant time, hold more than three shells in the magazine and firing chamber combined. R-119-2014,s.5.
