Subject to subsection 2(2), fees shall be paid to the Registrar in accordance with the Schedule. R-098-2013,s.2.
(1) In this section, "public body" means a department, branch or office of any level of government, including Crown corporations, boards or commissions, in Canada.
(2) No fee shall be paid by the following for the services referred to in item 2 of the Schedule:
(a) a law enforcement agency in Canada;
(b) a public body carrying out an investigation or proceeding authorized by an enactment that leads or could lead to the imposition of a penalty or sanction under the enactment.
(3) Notwithstanding subsection (2), a public body shall pay a fee for a search referred to in paragraph 2(a) of the Schedule if the search is conducted using the online search system provided by the Registrar. R-098-2013,s.2.
